20120228 - Website Evolution

Did you li'l birdies noticed the changes I made on my website?

 

So I made some drastic decisions to go into a more purpose oriented direction... If that ever makes sense. You probably saw the first change I made which is on "Creative" section which now features my "Creating Art" Series. Maybe lets do a run down of what was and what will be.

 

Creative

Old - Crafts and non drawings

New - Web Series section, currently Creating Art

 

Colorful

Old - drawings and sketches

New - Formerly known as "Threads and Needles", Business section

 

The reason behind making Colorful the new section for "Threads and Needles" project is because its starting to take off and I need to put it up on my website. So much like with the Creating Art Series, instead of creating a new section why not make use of the existing ones and Colorful makes sense. Why does it make sense? Its because the true color is green, like for money LOL. Well yeah, creative would make more sense but with the concept of "Color of Life" since the dolls of Threads and Needles are part of one of the most colorful events in peoples lives. I'll stop there because I'm starting to just blurt out jibberish.

 

Been having a Diarrhea week so far, thats disgusting so that ends there. Next week I am channeling my true self because I will be Fatman err... I mean Batman. We are having the company's annual dinner and we are required to costume up. My manager originally wants me to dress up as Po from Kung Fu Panda but the costume was expensive and Batman was selected by my supervisor. I like Batman so I guess it still worked out. I have to fix the mask though because the costume they ordered from just had a generic cutout mask which just looks stupid and insulting to an artist. Creating Art is on its 4th episode and I am currently working on a series of themed episodes but I haven't decided whether to showcase it in April or May. I am leaning towards May so it can start on the First week not mid-week.

 

On the tv front, RPDR 6 has started Kelly Mantle was first to go! It wasn't shocking after seeing the trailer. So this season they decided to split the girls in 2 teams. 7 girls competed first and Ben Delacreme won, Laganja and Gia was annoying, Vivacious why she didn't get eliminated I dunno and who was the other one? Oh Adore? Not gonna last in my opinion. Then I forgot April Carrion because she is just not interesting LOL. I am listening to RuPaul's new album "Born Naked" out of the 10 songs, I love 7 so I guess its a winner. A lot of featured artist and Michelle Visage still has a great voice.

20120221 - Last week of February 2014

Hey li'l Birdies, its the last week of February 2014. Lets get straight into business. My series "Creating Art" is now on its 3rd episode. I'm excited about it because I am committed to it which is a very good sign! Keeping strong to it; I started drawing a couple Crazy Carnival themed artworks. Its carnival characters, some crazy and scary; and some just the carnies. I am forseeing my Crazy Carnival arts to be featured by April 2014. I have also learned how to use the layer transform and merging of layers with Brushes 3. So, I have been more ambitious with the new drawings which you birdies will see next month on Creating Art.

 

 

What else...??? Hong Kong weather has dropped again the past week. I love it because I can dress up. Work has been a stretch... Its been nonstop for the past few days but I do have a few moments a day to just exhale so its alright. Also, I got Spotify now. I can listen to songs when I get the chance to sit down. I am listening to Steve Perry's "Foolish Heart", Human League's "Human" and EBTG's "Didn't Know I was Looking for Love". A bit cheesy but it keeps me calm on a crazy day. You know? Trying to get the anger management in control.

 

 

The New season of RPDR has started... ~ish sort of. Just like last year they previewed the first episode up to the bottom 2. But we will talk about that later when the first episode officially airs. I still can't get over the finale of American Horror Story: Coven. Its kinda like the first season... Its was a bit disappointing; I mean it makes more sense but wasn't dramatic enough of a finale. I may start catching up on Modern Family... Maybe... Depends on my mood.

20140209 - Hat and cap

Hieeeeee!!!!

 

So how's is everybody in Hong Kong coping with the immediate temperature drop? It was warm early in the week but I think about Thursday it suddenly just dropped back to 15 degrees and below. I got a cold out of it. The gloomy late winter weather has arrived! Its not raining very hard but a continuous drizzle that makes the weather feel colder.

 

 

 

But that didn't stop me from going out and buy me some new head gears or ears really. So today I went to Prince Edward to buy a hat for my coven/witchy look because of the new Onitsuka Tiger shoes I got. So the hat I wanted to get looks like Boy George's signature hat. My problem now is the loose white shirt because for the pants I learned a new way of folding which looks good. Back to my shopping trip, half way to the store I always go to I stumbled into a girlie accessory store and found a cap; furry cap; furry cap with ears to be exact. So after I got my hat I went back to get a furry cap. It looks like bear ears specifically Yogi Bear. Its very cartoony which is my style nowadays.

 

 

Also last Friday was the first episode of my Creating Art series. I am so excited for it, basically, its the same model which is my "Southern Belle" drawing. Yes, the "e" is back. On the pilot video, there is no "e" so it "Southern Bell" because I really thought it is a bell which grand and beautiful which I think is appropriate for the drawing and the persona I was going for. But (of course) if I want to aim for a professional looking video the name should be correct which is Belle meaning Lady/woman/person with vagina in Italy or French or whatever European country it came from. It doesn't have much views but I'm happy I created this series because I like watching the process of my drawing. I know it sounds self-gratifying and self-absorb but its very fascinating to see how many changes I made working into the final product. So if people watch it; they watch it and if they don't watch it; they don't watch it. It doesn't really matter, I mean yeah it will be nice if a lot of people watch it but I guess its nice to be humble and grounded. I will post the preview picture for next weeks episode on Monday.

20140203 - end of holidays...

And so the last day of the Chinese New Holiday has dawned upon me... Tomorrow starts work again. The past week was all about visiting relatives and friends. Collecting Lai-see/red pockets.

 

 

So I went with my family around Hong Kong to visit Grand Parents. They all live on the Hong Kong side particularly Chai Wan and North Point. Traditionally, when at Norh Point we buy Fookien style beef soup. Its like beef broth with ginger strips and pieces of mached beef (its like hamburger... difficult to explain but it tastes good). Afterwards we had dinner at Saizeriya which is the cheapest Italian restaurant in Hong Kong... Well at least I think it is. We had some salads and pizzas.

 

 

Third day of the year, I went to my old colleagues house for a CNY party. We played Wii and board games. We also ate this pot of Poon Choy which is like a basin of Chinese food. Its has roast pork, roast duck, tofu, abalone, shrimp and a lot of stuff. Half way though I went out with my friend to pick up his girlfriend and I ended up buying a new pair of shoes. So we went back, started dinner and played some more board games.

 

 

 

The new shoes I got they look like Evangelion feet, I need to buy colored shoe strings for the perfect effect; maybe some orange, violet and red... or blue that might look good too. My friend had them and I said it looked good then we went to get me a pair en route to pick up his girlfriend at Tsim Sha Tsui. Yes, I am a shoe queen specifically boots. I already got the look floating in my head. I am gonna go AHS:Coven look; its like children of the corn cult look with Boy George hat but I need to pickup some hip-hop shirts. You know? Those shirts that are big ont he body but just perfect size on the neck. I will take picture when I get the look right.

 

I am also working on my "Creating Art" series. I decide make a proper first episode with better video manipulations and sounds. I have made an opening and closing credits as well, so its very professional aspiring video. I didn't scrap the original video, I just pass it on as the pilot/demo video. It will also help me stick to the Friday schedule. I've also setup a page for this series but I am pondering whether or not to replace my "creative" page with the "Creating Art" page. For now let's see how my brain goes maybe I will scrap the creative or maybe I will keep it. So I will link all new episodes on the new page. Anyways, I have 3 episodes ready and should cover the rest of the month since I decided to upload new episodes every Friday. That should give me a lot of time to prepare more videos especially when I am feeling lazy.

 

 

 

Other than my new series, I am looking forward to a new season of RPDR, AHS: Coven just finished so I am gonna do a Marathon. I waited until the season finished because I don't want to be left hanging after each episode. What else... That's what I'm looking forward to at the moment because that other thing I'm hoping for... I'm trying to convince myself to let it go. So Happy Chinese New Year again and until next time, I leave you with a hint on the upcoming new episode of Creating Art.
