Today is Ching Ming Festival in Hong Kong. One of the days in the year when people here go visit cemeteries and pay respects to their lovely departed. I didn't mainly because we went a few weeks early to avoid the crowd. Cemeteries are limited in Hong Kong so on this kind of occasions they are packed and loaded with people. Especially old people. I know I will be old in the future as well but you will agree old people can get very annoying. They always run in front of you then when they are in front of you they suddenly become weak and withered again. WTF?!?. They block the way, they whine and just won't shut up. Hong Kong is all slopes. Most of the places are on the slopes of mountains. Fortunately, my place isn't. Can you just imagine old people climbing slopes with a huge crowd all over? You suddenly have the urge to push and just get people to give way. I am notorious for faking the push, pretending I was pushed as well but in reality I was the one pushing.
Speaking of departed, I downloaded an app called Ghost-O-Meter. The app is supposed to pick up paranormal activity, in technical term a P.K.E meter. As you all probably figured out by now, I have this sort of obsession with ghost or paranormal videos. I may not do one myself because I am afraid of paranormality. I do enjoy the mystery, that sense of the unknown existing fascinates me because knowledge do at times scare me. I downloaded this app because i have been hearing a lot of stuff around the apartment. There are the usual which i debunk as coming from the upper or lower floors. I would hear door creeks and footsteps. Some of the experiences I had I cant explain. I heard a man crying, I checked my flatmate and he was sleeping at that time. Also cold spots would appear next to me at times as well just small round spots that feel cold. At the office, I always feel this shadow or entity behind me that would take a look at what I'm doing but when I turn around nothing is there. So that's my back story, lets talk about the app. The interface looks like an old meter gauge with lights in the middle. So I'm not really sure which components the app use but I'm sure it uses the gyro meter for location. There is one component which I don't really understand its use. If you notice on the screenshot there is a huge lightbulb on top of the meter. At first, I thought that is an indicator as well if there is a strong reading. I was wrong because there was one time the needle was only at the lowest graph and the light bulb was full on bright. So I'm not sure what its for, most likely just an aesthetic addition.
I want to try it at work but it is noisy, the app projects white noises which are not quiet and you can't mute it so it can capture attention. I moved around my apartment with it. The meter didn't go into the 1-4 boxes of gauge basically the highest reading but the needle did touch the edge. App will continue to pick up signals for a few minutes then it will stop and give you a summary of "Ghost Activities". On my first try it reported to have detected 3 ghosts, then 5 on my next try. I'm not sure if its the real thing but I did noticed that a couple of times there's a strong reading when I turn around. Also there is a picture that has a strong reading. I do have to say, also indicated by the developer, this app for entertainment so don't rely on it as a proper ghost detecting device. If you do want to go on paranormal investigation, look up EMF, EVP and cameras with infra-red and night vision modes. Last words on this app, it is a cool app. A bit eerie and creepy but it is an entertaining app it can set the ghostly atmosphere because of the white noise it makes. I do recommend this app, it's costs $1.99 from the App Store its good fun for that chill.
I am loving my new marpet, I laid it in my living room where I usually do my posting. I am laying on it whilst writing this post. Ok so... Lets talk more ghosts. A new episode of My Ghost Story has finally showed up. The new episode features 2 bikers/writers (wait, wait, wait, I know right? Sounds suspiciously fake) their story was that they move around the country. They go to cemeteries for insipiration, and you are a like "of course you can capture something there, it's a cemetery!". First segment was about this old mill that manufacture talcum powder. They got some evil EVP's but it does sound robotic so I'm not sure if its real. There was laugh but I feel, after watching it a couple of times, was reused from an old episode. Another segment was about an ex-husband that still haunts his family. This one is different from the jealous obsessive dead wife. This ghost is protecting his family from another entity in the house which basically killed him in the first place by forcing him into suicide. The last segment was about sisters with psychic powers and can see ghosts since they were young. Their story was about a car crash and the victim hanging out with one of the sisters. I'm quite not totally happy with this episode but it is better than the Canadian phony baloney.
So that's the story so far, I do want to try more Ghost apps. The App Store has some apps focusing on EVP's. I'm intrigue and a bit scared as well. I've always wanted try EVP, you never know what you will hear talking back at you. When I do, I will write about it.
