So today, I watched Sadako 3D during lunch time. My only comment afterwards is, please don't revive Sadako. It's not because she is evil and kills people, but because this iteration was very different from its predecessors. Before I go further lets talk about the original movie first.
The Ring, the original movie of the franchise is about a cursed video being passed around and anybody who watches it dies after 7 days. On the seventh day, the phone will ring and if you answer it no one is on the other line. Then the TV will turn on just showing static, you know when the station is closed, it will then switch to the well and Sadako slowly climbing out then out the TV to kill who watched it. The cursed video was awesome and really spooky! It goes from a man with a covered head pointing at something, people in pain crawling the streets to Sadako's mom brushing her hair then lastly the well where Sadako was pushed into. There was a lot of spook in the movie with the only special effect I could think of was when Sadako crawling out of the television. It may be the only special effect but it was enough to scare you to the bone. The main character of the story was trying to save her son who saw the video. Her husband was killed because she made him watch it together. She sought the history and found the well which she thought was the solution but it wasn't. The phones started ringing and the TV turning on. I won't spoil just watch the ending yourself.
Sadako 3D has a good enough story, not the best, not for a proper horror movie but for a zombie flick. What is it with current media that they are so obsessed with vampires and zombies? As I've said from my previous post, the story is about this guy who is trying to revive Sadako. The main character Akane is a teacher living with her artist boyfriend, actor Koji Seto who looks very yaoi and has crossed dress. The twist was that she was also psychic and has power to destroy stuff by screaming. I know, I know very common plot but they have to write it that way because Sadako was also psychic that people feared and her twin (as told on Ring 0) the evil one didn't have a body of her own; like a spirit. As with the original Ring movie, there is also a cursed video but instead of circulating via VHS; it was circulated on the net accesses through computers and mobile phones. The Japanese sure love live streaming, they had it on this one and another one I remember was with Confession. The cursed video would only appear at a certain time of day, when its not yet show time people will Error 404. The video shows the guy being choked to death by an invisible Sadako. This cursed video, SUCKED!!! It really sucked so bad, it doesn't even match the original video. It just shows guy floating in the air then when he was about to die it had a lot of zoom windows on his face... Failed! The reason on this movie why Sadako was killing people because she was looking for the appropriate new body. They were also able to find the well but a huge number of Sadako with long legs and short arms started coming out of the well. These creatures look like something that came from Silent Hill or Resident Evil. Totally not impressed. All in all, the beginning was strong; the ending bad especially when the Zombie Sadako can be killed with one blow! What's so scary about that?!?
(This is the Koji Seto not Satomi Ishihara, honestly he looks prettier)
What the hell?!! Banks sending me text messages to apply for loan. Total change of topic but its kind of annoying when you are wishing for something to contact you and what you get are telemarketers. I've been applying non stop in the past few months, I do get emails from a couple of agents but there are no follow through which is a pisser. I've pretty much gone through each post on job boards. Some positions I never even heard of. Fingers crossed that something happens in the upcoming month. We all want something better, I'm looking for something where I will feel happy and contented (with the same pay of course). I guess not just on the office environment but on my personal life as well. I don't know but Hong Kong has been too stressful and I've always found it difficult to be satisfied. I used to have the patience of a rock... But think positive something good might happen.
Moving on, Apple TV had a new update today. According to Apple's website, this update enables cloud music for Japanese accounts and also performance improvements. On the last update, they enabled the Apple TV to connect to Bluetooth keyboard which now thinking back I didn't know it had. I've always thought it only have Wifi. I have a 3rd generation Apple TV which has iOS. The first generation Apple TV had a modified version of OSX, there was also a hack where people can install a full OSX into it. But what does Apple TV do? First is access your purchased videos, podcast and music then play them on your TV. Second, it has a few apps such YouTube, ESPN, and Wallstreet Journal. Third, it can also play your video library through iTunes. Yes, it means that you have turn on iTunes your pc or Mac so the Apple TV can feed from it. The key here is that if iTunes can play it, then Apple TV can as well. The 3rd generation doesn't have a jailbreak yet so other way to skip iTunes. Lastly, the Apple TV is also used for air-play mirroring either from iOS devices or Mac computers. You can have your desktop screen appear on your living room TV and work there.
I actually don't want to work tomorrow because the office atmosphere is really, I mean really slow its like everybody is on holiday already. This morning has more work but towards lunch... Lets watch Sadako 3D. So I'm not so keen to working tomorrow. I guess that's it for now, lets meet up again tomorrow. Lets listen to a little Vicky B with Mind of its own.
